Loan to value (LTV) is calculated by dividing the value of the mortgage you need by the property's value. LTV essentially tells you and lenders the proportion of the property price paid for with a mortgage.

Lenders use it to determine how much risk applies to a loan secured on a property. The higher the LTV, the higher the risk a lender is taking on. The maximum LTV for non-residents is 70% and for residents is 80%
